AMGEN Biotechnology Experience

Date: Wednesday 30 September 8:30am - 3:00pm, Friday 2 October 2026 8:30am - 3:00pm

Students will have the opportunity to use lab-grade equipment and participate in the genetic modification of bacteria. They will create recombinant DNA of bacteria, which they will then incubate and use PCR to verify their results. This will serve as an incredible opportunity to revise Module 5-8 concepts in a hands-on, engaging, interactive experience using state-of-the-art equipment in a real lab setting.

Year 11 Learning Conference - RYDA Program

The first day of the Year 11 Learning Conference is dedicated to the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) program. This valuable workshop focuses on developing students’ understanding of road safety, responsible driving behaviours, and risk management. RYDA equips students with practical knowledge and skills to help reduce road-related accidents and enhance their safety as future drivers.

Koorana Junior AECG Meeting

The Koorana Junior Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (Junior AECG) provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with a culturally safe and supportive forum to strengthen their identity, develop leadership skills and actively contribute to Aboriginal education.

Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza

Student participation in the Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza. During the Excursion students will participant in the following activities: 1. Travel to White Park, Scone NSW by bus where students will be camping , 2. Partake in led cattle classes and junior judging, 3. Visit Scone Regional Livestock Selling Center for interactive cattle judging.

Griffin Cup Inter-College Collaboration Day
